Chapter XXX

All believers through the knowledge of1 that justification of life given by the Father and brought forth by the blood of Christ have as their great privilege of that new2 covenant, peace with God, reconciliation, whereby they that were afar off are made nigh by3 that blood, and have4 peace passing all understanding; yea, joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by5 whom we have received atonement.

  1. Romans 5:9–10 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 2 Corinthians 5:19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.  ↩︎
  2. Isaiah 26:12 O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.  ↩︎
  3. Ephesians 2:13–14 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility  ↩︎
  4. Ephesians 4:7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.  ↩︎
  5. Romans 5:10–11 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.  ↩︎
