That touching His person, the Lord Jesus, of who¹ Moses and the prophets wrote, and who the apostles preached, is the everlasting Son of God,² by eternal generation, the brightness of His Father’s glory, and the engraven form of His person; co-essential, coequal, and co-eternal, God with Him and with the Holy Ghost, by who He has made the worlds, by whom he upholds and governs all the works He has made; who also when the³ fullness of time was come, was made man of a woman, of the tribe of Judah,⁴ of the seed of David and Abraham,⁵ to wit of Mary that blessed virgin, by the Holy Ghost coming upon her, and the power of the Most High overshadowing her; and was also⁶ in all things like unto us, sin only excepted.
